Saturne, Paris
Name: Saturne Address: 17 Rue Notre Dame des Victoires, 75002 Paris14 Rue Amelot, 75011 Paris Website: http://www.saturne-paris.fr/ Location: Paris Budget: $$$ Price: £240 for two people with carte blanche and wine (not pairing) What I recommend: Carte Blanche
After a visit to Clown Bar I could not wait to check out its mother restaurant, run by head chef Sven Chartier.
Half-expecting Japanese influences, like Clown Bar, I did not find these. That's not to mean I was disappointed in any way, as the Carte Blanche menu was surprising and creative, all the while including some of my all time favourites, such as raw scallops with nasturtium, and veal sweetbreads.
The real surprise though were the desserts. Not usually one with a sweet tooth, the desserts where the clear winners for me.
TOP TIP:
Don't base your expectation of the menu on what your neighbours are eating, Chef Chartier decides every evening who gets what. This means that while our neighbours had langoustines and chicken, we got scallops and sweetbreads (I think we won!)
